Guy joined Auroville in 1988 and has been a member of multiple groups there, including the Economy Group, Auroville Council, Working Committee, and Development Group. For the past ten years he has been the coordinator of the Auroville Project Coordination Group, and for the last two years, the coorinator of the Auroville Land Fund. Shivaya (Ruth Elisabeth Hauser) was born in Switzerland and came to Auroville in 1978 She has been active in pioneer work, tree planting and water conservation, building up New Lands settlement, working in architecture and as a teacher.She has been a member of many groups, including the Working Committee, Development Group, and Land Estate Management, Youth Activites and Animal Care Trust. Presently most of her energy goes into activities related with land purchase.
