"Pranayama and stress reduction" with JV Avadhanulu

JV Avandhanulu Personal Growth workshop

About JV Avadhanulu

At the age of 41 (in the year 1987), JV was diagnosed with ischemic heart disease, high blood pressure, and high blood sugar. He began the practice of pranayama, which not only healed these "incurable" diseases but also gave him a new life and led him to the path of holistic healing. Exploring other inner growth practices, he learned that he needed to manage his physical and emotional stress to maintain inner harmony and happiness. For more than two decades he has been practicing pranayama, deep relaxation, meditation, and other techniques with remarkable benefits.

In 2007 JV quit his professional career to live in Auroville and explore alternate modes of living. In 2008 he began offering Personal Growth programs in Auroville, and in 2009 he began facilitating programs outside Auroville at educational institutions, corporations, and NGOs. He is a visiting faculty at Indian Institute of Management, Indore, teaching courses and workshosp in personal growth and integral development. JV is passionate about sharing the techniques and tools that were beneficial to him, and more than 5,000 people from 30 countries have attended his workshops and retreats.

JV holds a master of technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and had a successful career spanning 38 years in the Indian navy, academia, and private industry. In 1984 he received the Visisht Seva medal from the president of India for distinguished service. He was director of research and development at D-Link India, manager at the Centre for Research on Innovation and Science Policy / Institute of Indian Science, vice president of software at Cirrus Logic India, and general manager of research and development at BPL Telecom.
