Guy
Ryckaert
Guy Ryckaert was born in Belgium in September 1944. He began his university studies in the area of Economics. But, after a change of heart, earned his degree in Library Science. While living in Belgium, Guy made his living as a book publisher and bookseller. As a resident of Auroville since 1988, Guy has been engaged in various committees related to community organization, planning, economy, and land acquisition. He is also an executive trustee of the Auroville Centre for Scientific Research. For the past seven years Guy has been a member of the Auroville Economy Group. For the past two years he has also been a member of the AV Council, the AV Working Committee and the AV Development Group. Guy currently serves as executive trustee of the Auroville Centre for Scientific Research where he has worked for the past 12 years. Mr. Ryckaert who is a tireless servant to his understanding of the Motherıs vision for Auroville, also acts as coordinator of the Auroville Project Coordination Group, a member of the Auroville Funds and Assets Committee (FAMC), coordinator of Auroville Land Fund and executive of Auroville Land and Estate Management . Guyıs keen interest and heartfelt effort as he heads into the 21st century is to assist in securing the land for Auroville which The Mother had envisioned in her plans for "the city the earth needs."
