Margaret Astrid Phanes

Margaret Astrid Phanes has taught Shakti Meditation and Visual Light-Energy Meditations for more than 25 years at colleges, health organizations, and Skypel.

At the Sri Aurobindo Center for Advanced Research, she facilitated in the graduate program of Sri Aurobindo Studies. For more than 20 years she was a graphics software trainer at the University of California Santa Cruz and the University of Hawaii Maui College. She has pioneered bringing inner and outer technology together in animated meditations inspired by the vision of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother.

Margaret presented visual meditations at AUM 2007 and AUM 2011. Her artwork has appeared in Collaboration. She is a member of the retreat planning committee at Sri Aurobindo Sadhana Peetham in Lodi, California, and serves as the communications officer for the Sri Aurobindo Association of America.

Surrender to the Inner Suns: A
Visual Light-Energy Meditation (Trātak)

"Surrender to the Inner Suns" is an invocation to the inner consciousness of transformation. This visual meditation will be a practice of trātak, a concentration on a luminous object.

The descent of Shakti-force, overhead planes, and the opening to the psychic presence will be invoked through a series of transforming images of light, color, and energy. Purification of the nature occurs through this influx of spirit and soul force. The intention of this visual meditation is to strengthen and support the inner experience and inner growth of our individual and collective sadhana.
