[The following has been received from Gadadhar Mishra, secretary of the Matrubhaban Trust.]

The cyclone has caused massive damage to the buildings, campus, built mostly from public donations. It is impossible to bring it back to its previous stature to serve and uplift the society. The estimate of damage amounting Rs. 46,78,450. [$116,961 calculated at 40 rupees = $1]

The Matrubhaban, Sri Aurobindo Marg Cuttack-753013 established on 18th July 1971 runs by Matrubhaban Trust with founder President late Sri Ramakrishna Das and the founder secretary late Sri Uchhabananda Samataray is a center of multidimensional activity of great educational, social and spiritual importance for the state of Orissa. The wings operations under its auspices are:

EDUCATIONAL - SRI AUROBINDO INSTITUTE OF HIGHER STUDIES AND RESEARCH (Founded in 1975) which constitutes

• School Section (from K.G. to Class-10) with 1200 students showing excellence all round results.
• Arts (Recognized) (Private).
  
• (Correspondence) (Private). Postgraduate Section (Correspondence) with immediate plans to expand to +2 and +3 Science Section.

WOMENS SECTION - SRIAUROBINDO MAHILA PATHACHAKRA founded in 1973 to educate and awaken women for the integral development of the family that would be pivotal in developing the entire society. It holds camps in entire state of Orissa for this work.

MEDICAL SECTION- SRIAUROBINDO MEDICAL ASSOCIATION founded in 1976 for awakening medical profession and people in general to Integral Health; at present it runs a Sri Aurobindo Swasthya Kendra that imparts health care with special emphasis on Reproductive Child Health. It has adopted a remote area (Rairpur) in Jagatsinghpur District and a Tribal area near Tangi, Haripur for ongoing healthcare with immediate plans for organizing Integral Health Camps throughoutthe state.

SRI AUROBINDO ENGINEERS ASSOCIATION - A group of Engineers of all branches to give voluntary consultancy and help upon receipt of donation to more than fifty centersthroughout Orissa for its all round development with plans for raising the economy of the state through consciousness approach.

SRI AUROBINDO ASHRAM STORE - Distributes Sri Aurobindo's and The Mother's Literature, Ashram products, Educational materials throughout Orissa. It has lost material amounting to 3.5 Lakhs. [=$8,750]

COMMON DINING HALL - For cooking anddining of the inmates, guests and all involved in various activities ofMatrubhaban.

Round the year activities of the center include:

• Integral School (250 centers now exist throughout the state) workers meet.
• Integral School Teachers Summer Training Course.
• Workshops for updating and development of different subjects taught in centers of educational experiment taken up throughout thestate

• All Orissa Girl child Meet
• All Orissa Students Meet
