Praveen Chaddha started learning music at the age of five in a musically nurturing environment in Allahabad, India. He performed on radio, television, and in films before moving to make his home in California where he refined his natural talent and art amidst a growing audience of music lovers. Darshana Bhuta's training in vocal music started also very early in Bombay where she was groomed by various Gurus, including the well-known P.V. Amberkar and Jaidev. Their mutual love for music and the aspiration to keep it alive brought them together in California and they have been singing together ever since.

Inspiration from Praveen's mother led them in 1993 to complete their first compact disc called "Bhajman," a Sanskrit name that translates as "Chant the Lord's name in your heart." "When we started our first album, Praveen's mom said that if you do something in God's name, He will be there to help you" says Darshana. That faith has kept the inspiration flowing for this talented duo.
