Peter Heehs is a member of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Since the early 1970s
he has worked as an editor at the ashram's Archives and Research library.
He and his colleagues have prepared editions of many of Sri Aurobindo's
works, including the first transcription of his yogic journal, Record of
Yoga. Their current project is an edition of his complete works in 34 volumes.
As part of his work at the archives, Peter has done biographical and historical
research on three continents. He has published five books on modern Indian
history, and contributed papers to a number of academic journals. He is
the editor of The Essential Writings of Sri Aurobindo, recently
issued by Oxford University Press.
